WeRide Expands Commercial Robotaxi Services Globally with Strong Q1 2025 Results and Strategic Partnerships

WeRide Inc., a global leader in autonomous driving technology, announced its unaudited financial results for Q1 2025, highlighting significant progress in the expansion of its commercial Robotaxi services worldwide. The company is actively scaling its autonomous driving deployments with over 1,200 autonomous vehicles operating across multiple regions, including Asia, the Middle East, and Europe.

A major highlight is the expansion of WeRide’s partnership with Uber, extending Robotaxi services to 15 additional cities globally. This strategic alliance underscores the commercial viability of large-scale autonomous driving operations. Additionally, Uber has made a follow-on equity investment, demonstrating confidence in WeRide’s technology and market strategy.

WeRide also successfully launched Robotaxi operations in Dubai in partnership with Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and Uber, moving towards fully driverless commercial service by Q1 2026. Furthermore, the company has strengthened collaboration with Tencent Cloud to accelerate Robotaxi commercialization and international market expansion.

Financially, WeRide reported total revenue of RMB72.4 million (approximately 10 million USD), marking a modest increase from the previous year. Gross profit reflects strong margins in both products and services, while operating expenses have increased primarily due to investments in engineering talent to bolster technological leadership.

CEO Tony Han expressed optimism about WeRide’s vision becoming reality across multiple continents, emphasizing the company’s commitment to making autonomous mobility accessible and affordable. CFO Jennifer Li highlighted improving commercial traction supported by international expansions and ongoing investments.

In regulatory advances, WeRide earned the first autonomous logistics vehicle road test permit in Guangzhou’s Huangpu District, further cementing its leadership across diverse autonomous vehicle applications including Robotaxi, Robobus, Robovan, and Robosweeper segments.

With ongoing innovations in its universal autonomous vehicle platform, WeRide is poised to shape the future of autonomous mobility globally, backed by strong partnerships and expanding market presence.
